The Pollack Group is excited to work with WiSP, an innovative technology company adapting science to empower life’s moments. Using patent-pending technology, WiSP integrates chemical engineering, electro-optics expertise, and consumer insights to create a discreet yet powerful state-of-the-art drink spiking detection device for real-time drink safety. As studies reveal that one in ten individuals have or will be affected by drink spiking, yet fewer than one percent report incidents, WiSP’s mission is clear: to turn awareness into action. The Pollack Group will lead WiSP’s PR and media relations, brand positioning as well as define its core messaging and value proposition, especially as the company expands to detect a wider range of drugs, such as fentanyl.

“The issue of drink spiking is a significant concern, and while WiSP is actively working to bring its product to market, we knew we needed a strategic PR and marketing approach to ensure we are crafting the right message and reaching the right audiences,” said Liat Kaplan, CEO and co-founder. “Having worked with The Pollack Group in the past, I have no doubt they are the right partner to bring our vision to fruition.”

In Spring 2025, WiSP is launching its first public pilot, partnering with Greek life organizations at the University of Southern California, Washington University, and Maryland University. The pilot will allow college students an opportunity to use the versatile product and gain real-life insights and experiences from test-driving its technology. As part of the pilot, participating partners receive the complete WiSP system—the console, Wispers, and mobile app—which will provide real-world usage and use case feedback. The pilot will engage approximately 1,500 app users and 500 device users between March and May, helping validate WiSp’s effectiveness in diverse settings.

Additionally, WiSP is also securing partnerships beyond campus life, including local cities and governments to support leading nightlife safety initiatives, to expand awareness and adoption.

“There isn’t one woman who hasn’t known someone or been personally affected by drink spiking,” said Jennifer Lewis, Vice President at The Pollack Group. “Safety for all, especially women and the LGBTQ+ community, is crucial. With the help of Liat’s remarkable vision and our PR and marketing expertise, we are excited to introduce WiSP to the world.”

As awareness around safe consumption grows, WiSP will be positioned to become a leader not just in drink safety, but in detecting hidden dangers across a range of consumables, from fentanyl risks to recreational drug users to food allergens and intolerances. WiSP’s roadmap extends beyond drink spiking detection, with ongoing R&D efforts pushing the boundaries of Raman spectroscopy technology. The team is advancing detection capabilities to identify lower concentrations and a broader range of contaminants.
