Major League Baseball makes its pitch to Gen Z on TikTok – The Drum

Major League Baseball just had its Opening Day for the 2021 season, and this year, they are taking steps to attract younger viewers. On average, MLB’s fans are in their mid to late 50s, so to bring in the Gen Z viewers, the league and its partners are tapping TikTok. Within the first week, MLB’s partner Scotts, a major lawn care company, will be running a sweepstake to engage TikTok viewers for a prize.

Fast-food giant KFC has been experimenting in the United Kingdom with new catchphrases because their old catchphrase, “Finger-Lickin’ Good,” was temporarily decommissioned due to the health risks associated with the pandemic. The catch? They are borrowing catchphrases from other major brands, including “I’m Lovin’ It,” “Gives You Wings,” “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry,” and much more.

Marshawn Lynch Gets ‘Lost in the Crunch’ for Lay’s – AdWeek

Former NFL star Marshawn Lynch is no stranger to making appearances as a spokesperson for brands. Previously, he has been associated with Skittles, but this time he is teaming up with Lay’s for its new Kettle Cooked Extra chip flavors, Honey Habanero and Extreme Cheddar. In the ad, Lynch gets lost in the Kettle Chips flavor and crunch, so he starts to agree to things without knowing what they are because he can’t hear over the sound of the crunch.

Adidas Releases Sustainable Disney-Themed Stan Smith Trainers – Independent

Adidas’ new star for its commercials is everyone’s favorite Muppet, Kermit the Frog. Kermit, along with other Disney-famous characters, will be featured on the latest line of environmentally conscious sneakers from Adidas. The Stan Smith trainer collection will feature green-colored characters including, Kermit, Rex from Toy Story, and Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc.
